Each year, on Corpus Christi Sunday, we give Our Lord due praise for His victory over death and the figt of Himself to us in the Euchrist. One way we express this is through the celebratory walking of the faithful with the God in whom we believe, taking Him beyond the precincts of the church and inviting Him to take possession of the world in which we live.
This year, Corpus Christi Sunday (also known as the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ), was celebrated on June 18th. Prince of Peace had a Corpus Christi procession to emphasize the importance of this Solemnity.
The procession began inside the church immediately following the 11:30am Mass on Sunday, and proceeded to the parish grounds. In the course of the procession there were four stations (representing the four corners of the Earth) where the priest and the people stopped for the proclamation of the Holy Gospel, a prayer and a blessing with the intention of putting the whole world under the protection of the Eucharistic Lord.
Parishioners, along with their families and friends , particiated it this special events.
Thank you to the Knights of Columbus, the alter servers, and Tom Reddish for contributing pictures.
